Ash Rucker is a Brooklyn-based performance artist whose work merges ritual, ceremony, dance, song, and activism into collective acts of healing. Rooted in improvisation and guided by spirit, her performances use movement and voice as vessels for catharsis and freedom. What begins as deeply personal healing expands into a shared experience: audiences are invited to sing, move, and write prayers, co-creating sacred spaces of release and transformation.

Born from her own journey of grief and renewal through her brother’s addiction and incarceration, Rucker’s practice seeks to liberate the body from trauma and reconnect people to their essence. Through her nonprofit TherapART, she extends this work to youth impacted by the criminal justice system, blending art therapy with somatic and creative practices. Across museums, galleries, and community spaces, Rucker channels performance as a ritual of freedom — an offering of inspiration, empowerment, and collective awakening.

In addition to her performance work, she is also a movement director, collaborating with clients through music, energy, and improvisation to draw out the most liberated version of themselves.
